2026 National Talent Hunt
Omega Psi Phi’s National Talent Hunt is in full swing! Do you have a talent? Show it to the world and earn up to $2,000 + a Trip for 2 to Cincinnati, OH!
The Lambda Mu Mu Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. will hold our annual National Talent Hunt virtually, with the winning participant announced online on February 3, 2026 at 12:00 PM EST. This contest is open to High School students currently enrolled in a Canadian institution. Students can submit their application online beginning on Jan 3, 2026 and ending on January 30, 2026 at 11:59 PM EST.
Applications for the 2026 Lambda Mu Mu National Talent Hunt should consist of the combination of a 500-word essay and a single media file containing the talent of their choice. Additional details regarding the rules & guidelines for this year’s contest can be found here. Upon approval, talent videos/audio will be eligible to receive votes. Approved applicants will be notified by email and will appear in the online voting gallery. Talent videos and/or audio submissions can be 6 minutes long or less. Perspective students will be required to verify and confirm their contest eligibility. Parental release and consent is required for students under 18 years of age.
The 2026 Lambda Mu Mu Talent Hunt Committee will review all applications and will decide on a winner. The winner will be announced @ lambdamumu.com on February 3, 2026 at 12:00 PM EST.
Talent Hunt Contest voters are encouraged to vote based on the following criteria: Time (video meets but doesn’t exceed 1 min mark), creativity, and “WOW!” factor.
Each application should include a short bio containing a minimum length of 100 words.
Your talent submission should not exceed 6 minutes long (in the case of audio/video) or 3 images (in the case of art).
The National Talent Hunt is open to the following forms of trained art:
1. Music: Vocal and instrumental; classical, contemporary (i.e., Broadway, gospel, jazz, movie score, Top 40). A printed copy of the music (score for the judges to analyze) is required.
2. Dance: Hip hop, ballet, modern dance, jazz, and tap.
3. Dramatic Interpretation: Rap, poetry, oration, monologue, etc. (Printed script must be provided for each judge).
4. Visual Art: Sculpture, photography, drawing and painting. (2 to 3 images for judging).
5. Video: Format—Videos must be submitted in .mp4 (native Android video format) or .mov (native iPhone video format). The video file must contain the contestant’s name (e.g., mikesmith.mov).
Video Quality—Videos do not need to be professionally recorded. Videos made with iPhones or other digital devices are acceptable, provided the audio and video are clear and in the proper format. It is highly recommended that the video resolution be at least 1080p (1920 x 1080).
Lighting and Background—The background area should have sufficient lighting and appropriate scenery.
Introduction—Contestants must provide a quick introduction (no longer than 15 seconds) before their performance. The introduction should include:
Greeting
Name
Age
Grade
School (City/State)
Category of performance
Composer (if applicable)
Performance Requirements—The performance must be memorized and conducted in 6 minutes or less. Appropriate dress in accordance with the guidelines is required.
Recording Tips—Videos should not contain any special effects to enhance the performance.
Contestants should ensure their phone is in “do not disturb” mode to avoid interruptions during recording. Contestants are encouraged to review their video before submission and seek feedback from others.
Dress Code—Participants must wear appropriate attire.
T-shirts, jeans, and sneakers are not allowed. Dance and drama participants may wear appropriate attire for their presentation
Note: A 4×6 photograph (high resolution bust shot photo 300 dpi or higher – No cell phone, I-pad or scanned photos) and a biographical sketch of 100 words or less must accompany this form. You are required to provide any electronic equipment required and an operator.
