Omega Psi Phi’s National Talent Hunt is in full swing! Do you have a talent? Show it to the world and earn $1,000!

The Lambda Mu Mu Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. will hold our annual National Talent Hunt virtually, with the winning participant announced online on November 14, 2023 at 12:00 PM EST. This contest is open to Grade 12 high school students currently enrolled in a Canadian institution. Students can submit their application online beginning on October 16, 2023 and ending on November 10, 2023 at 11:59 PM.

Applications for the 2023 Lambda Mu Mu National Talent Hunt should consist of the combination of a 500-word essay and a single media file containing the talent of their choice. Additional details regarding the rules & guidelines for this year’s contest can be found here. Upon approval, talent videos/audio will be eligible to receive votes. Approved applicants will be notified by email and will appear in the online voting gallery. Please download and review the guidelines and application package for detailed information regarding eligible submissions.

Talent videos and/or audio submissions can be 1 minute long or less. Perspective students will be required to verify and confirm their contest eligibility. Parental release and consent is required for students under 18 years of age. 

All applicants will be provided with personalized voting links and are encouraged to share them with family and friends on social media as the contestant with the most votes will be selected as the winner. The winner will be announced @ lambdamumu.com on November 14, 2023 at 12:00 PM.

Talent Hunt Contest voters are encouraged to vote based on the following criteria: Time (video meets but doesn’t exceed 1 min mark), creativity, and “WOW!” factor.

2023 Lambda Mu Mu National Talent Hunt

The essay question for this year’s Talent Hunt is: What does community mean to you, and how have you been shaped by it?”

Your essay submission should be original work containing a minimum of 500 words, not exceeding 700 words and should attempt to answer the question above. Applicants will be judged on the quality of this essay submission in conjunction with their talent submission. 

Your talent submission should not exceed 1 minute long (in the case of audio/video) or 3 images (in the case of art).

The National Talent Hunt is open to the following forms of trained art:

1. Music: Vocal and instrumental; classical, semi-classical, gospel and jazz. 

2. Dance: Ballet, modern dance, and tap.

3. Dramatic Interpretation: Poetry, oration, monologue, etc. 

4. Visual Art: Sculpture, photography, drawing and painting. (2 to 3 images for judging).
